Matisse is a neighborhood tavern with an eclectic Gastropub menu including made-from-scratch items and the best quality meats (Late-night kitchen). Check out the cozy lounge with TVs, fireplace, Full-service bar including our martinis, craft and specialty cocktails (we use homemade ginger beer and just fresh juices) you won't find anywhere else. Christine's passion for food and entertaining people has a lot to do for why she is in the food service industry today. Coming from a big family, they've held so many parties for different occasions. When she arrived here in the US almost two decades ago, she honed in on her cooking skills, since no one was around to do the cooking. She would always try new recipes and invite friends over to taste her new creations. It gave her satisfaction when friends would rave on how good her food tasted. With a passion for cooking, the knowledge to run a business and the support of friends who are willing and would-be paying customers, why not open a restaurant? That's when she opened her first restaurant in the North Park neighborhood in Chicago.

Our seasonal tasting menu reflects an Arts & Crafts philosophy, featuring complex layers of craft within a simple, elegant style. We offer a six-course tasting menu with optional wine pairings; please note that we do not offer an à la carte menu. Regarding seating, tables in our front room or on the patio overlooking the pond are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups of more than four guests are seated in our main dining room. While we accept reservations for parties of up to eight people, these must be booked internally by contacting us at host@northpondrestaurant.com. Please be advised that a cancellation fee of $25 per person applies to all same-day cancellations.
