Body and Being in African Art opened November 2 at the Art Institute of Chicago. The presentation brings together more than 50 objects to explore ideas about bodies and identity across distinct artistic traditions.

Give yourself time for a few labels and take a second look at how each artist depicts the body. Gallery 227 makes an easy anchor for a short museum visit. Check the museum’s ticketing information before heading over.
