A downtown afternoon, from Tiffany glass to the Bean

Start under the Tiffany dome at the Chicago Cultural Center, then cross Michigan Avenue for a new angle on the skyline.

Last week’s trivia answer was the Chicago Cultural Center. This week, make it your first stop. Head to Preston Bradley Hall, look up at the Tiffany dome, then step back onto Michigan Avenue and cross over to Millennium Park.

Give yourself time at both stops. Under the dome, move from the center of the hall toward the edge and see which details catch your eye. At Cloud Gate, walk around the sculpture before taking a photo. The skyline bends differently depending on where you stand, so the first angle you see may not be the one you want to keep.

If you’re meeting someone downtown, start at the Cultural Center and decide how long to stay outdoors once you’ve seen the weather. That leaves room for a quick outing or a longer afternoon without having to plan every stop.
